Hotel promotion after complete renovation and repositioning

Grand Hotel Brioni Pula (Radisson Collection Hotel) is located in one of the most picturesque and historical towns in Croatia, on the western coast of the Istrian peninsula in the Adriatic Sea.

The unique location of the hotel allows guests to retire from prying eyes behind a dense pine forest and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere, a picturesque panorama of the sea and the islands of the Brijuni National Park, which inspired the legendary hotel name.

BRIF

At the end of 2021, the Arena Hospitality Group Management Company approached the SEA Company to help bring the historic Brioni Hotel to market as a luxury retreat. Built in the 1970s, the Brioni Hotel was one of the most iconic tourist meccas of the former Yugoslavia. In the 80s, the hotel was a favorite place for presidents and ministers of European, Asian and African countries. Popular artists such as members of the Boney M. band, wealthy businessmen and many other celebrities who wanted to be alone with nature stayed at the Brioni Hotel to enjoy the peace and mild Mediterranean climate. Soviet citizens of the highest political level also loved this place, for example, Nikita Khrushchev liked to walk in a pine grove on the territory of the hotel.

After the collapse of Yugoslavia and a number of other events, the Brioni hotel lost its former glory, its interiors are very outdated, and the hotel itself received a category of only 2 stars. However, in 2022 the hotel received a new lease of life with the completely refurbished Hotel Grand Brioni Pula, retaining the exterior architecture reminiscent of the classic James Bond trilogy. The management company Arena Hospitality Group carried out a full-scale renovation, attracted the best specialists from all over the world to make Brioni once again the most famous and prestigious place in the Balkans.

SOLUTION

In order to fulfill the tasks set, it was decided to start cooperation on the "PR support" package 2 months before the official opening of the hotel. Early preparation and announcement of the opening of the hotel allows you to start loading the hotel from the first days of its opening, which is the recommended standard of the SEA Company, also implemented as part of the project to open the first in Russia Curio Collection by Hilton in Moscow.

REALISATION

The first stage of the project implementation was the creation of a complete press and marketing base in English and Russian, including the brand legend and philosophy, short-term and long-term PR strategies for repositioning and launching the updated Brioni Pula brand, "cleaning" the information space where the old low-category hotel was mentioned.

The second stage was a large-scale announcement of the opening of the hotel among the media, as well as B2B partners. Regular meetings with journalists and subsequent publications in glossy and travel media made it possible to tell the target audience in advance (before the start of the summer season) about a completely new and luxurious holiday destination.

The occupancy of the hotel from the first days of opening was at a budgeted level.

Thanks to an active B2B PR campaign, partners began to show interest in the hotel and initiate cooperation requests for discerning tourists.

The developed PR strategy helped to avoid double perception of the hotel segment and introduced the brand to the right target audience.
