On 12 December 2017 in Moscow, a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the annual state «Guiding Star» award in the field of hospitality and tourism from the Government of Moscow. The event gathered representatives of the tourist and hotel business of Moscow, public authorities and mass media.
The second season of the project «Opera in Palace», which was held in Moscow from May to September 2017 with the general support of bank "Otkrytie", became the winner of the nomination "Best hotel event of the year". Such a high evaluation once again confirms that the project has confidently occupied a niche in the Moscow event calendar, is in demand and loved by the citizens and guests of the capital, and also carries a cultural mission to popularize the opera as an art.
This is not the first award the project received. In 2016, «Opera in Palace» entered the "Top 5 Best Events in the World" according to the Prestigious Star Awards London.
The third season of the project "Opera in the Palace" will be held in 2018 and will bring together more than 4,000 guests. In the open air of the Moscow summer, the voices of the soloists of the Bolshoi Opera will again be heard, and guests will enjoy pleasant changes in the organization of the evening.

History of the "Guiding Star" award "Guiding Star" award was established by the Committee on Tourism and Hotel Management of Moscow in 1999 with the aim of improving the quality of tourist and excursion services, hotel services, assessing the effectiveness of innovative methods in the industry, forming a positive image of the city as a world tourist center and, as a result, promoting increase in tourist flows to Moscow. "Guiding Star" is the Moscow «Oscar» of tourism industry, the only non-profit professional award for representatives of the tourism business in Moscow. Over the 18 years of the award's existence, the system of selection and evaluation of nominees and winners has been upgraded several times in order to achieve the greatest transparency and involvement in the selection process of representatives of the tourism industry, as well as direct users of hotel and tourist services. The opera nights that passed for the first time in the summer of 2016 from the first chord of the instrumental sextet entered themselves as one of the main events of the event calendar of the capital. Gathering on the lawn in front of the Petrovsky Palace in two branches of the Bolshoi Theater soloists, muscovites and guests of the capital were able to enjoy the singing of well-deserved and popular Russian artists who performed famous works of Glinka, Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov and other recognized geniuses of classical music for guests.
